Coloursphere®
Coloursphere® is a range of colour composites, which enhance colour care applications due to the shape and size of the particles. These can be used to build volume in mascara applications or to create soft focus effect with foundations and powder applications.
Technical information
The Coloursphere® products consist of a structure combining Styrene/Acrylates Copolymer with pigments. The particles are produced both in 10 micron or 40 micron size and with either hydrophobic or hydrophilic surface characteristics. With the bigger size it is possible to build volume and the smaller size can be used to create soft focus effect.
Properties and application areas
The Colourspheres® have spherical shape, which enhances the application qualities of emulsions and powder applications. The products have excellent wetting properties as they have small specific surface area making them easy to include in formulations. They can be added directly to formulations without being predispersed. The hydrophobic Colourspheres® are ideal for powder applications whereas the hydrophilic products perform best when volumizing mascaras or soft focus emulsions are in question. The use level for Colourspheres® is somewhat higher than with traditional colourants.
